··· EXTRA BACKGROUND INFO + CLICKABLE FILES
Below you can find a lot of additional text, to provide context. I also try to capture the changing 'zeitgeist', for example with all those old files.
In the mid-2010s, my musical taste became a bit darker. It has changed very little since.
INTERNET RADIO: ME & RADIONOMY
I was still very much into internet radio at the time, both as a listener and a creator. In 2015, I was still running my 90s flavoured station on Radionomy, but the platform started to become increasingly problematic. In early 2016, I decided to pull the plug, and a couple of years later Radionomy shut down completely.

MY FAVORITE INTERNET RADIO STATIONS
On the listeners' side: In the pics/sounds section below are some important stations and shows from this era. It's a very long list. For people who didn’t listen to these stations, these screenshots still provide a snapshot of the era. * = not existing anymore.

Pic 1: Screenshots related to Ice Radio. This station was the unofficial successor to KX Radio, partly featuring the same DJs.  |  Pic 2: The site of the station Poko Pokito*, which played soft alternative music.  |  Pic 3: The site of the station Ersatz Radio*, which played old alternative music (often from the 80s).  |  Pic 3: The site of BBC 6 Music.  |  Pic 4: The Swiss public youth station Couleur 3. Back in the days I liked the show 'Astrolab'*, presented by Ngoc Lan.  |  Pic 5: The local French station Radio Béton. I've always liked their whimsical playlist (and schedule).  |  Sound 1: A couple of Radio Béton fragments recorded in 2018.  |  Sound 2: A 2016 episode of Lefto's Studio Brussel show that I particularly liked. At the time, I was a frequent listener of both the show and the station.  |  Pic 6: The site of Studio Brussel.  |  Sound 3: 45 minutes of the late-80s/early-90s dance station Double XX at the time.  |  Pic 7: Mondo Bongo Radio, an eclectic Greecian station in the vein of FIP and Nova. Around 2017, more shows were being broadcast than today.  |  Pic 8: The site of the French station FIP.  |  Pic 9: The site of the French station Nova in early 2017.  |  Pic 10: The redesigned Nova site, one and a half year later.  |  Sound 4: A much played episode of the show 'Chunks of Funk'* by the Brussel DJ Mr. Leenknecht, broadcast at BRUZZ. I both liked the show and the station in general, which was especially interesting at night.  |  Pic 11: This was the website of Mr. Leenknecht at the time.  |  Pic 12: Radio Efímera Vinyl Rocks*, a Mexican radio station that played complete albums - By The Cure, Nirvana and many others.
HOW TO ID TRACKS?
Identifying tracks became a lot easier over the years, thanks to Shazam. Once installed on your smartphone or tablet, it would effortlessly pick up around 95% of the songs you were searching for. No more creative tricks were needed to figure out track titles.

Pic: Two articles about the rise of Shazam.
A DECLINE OF PHYSICAL MEDIA (1)
In the late 2010s I burned and bought my last CDs. Not that I didn't enjoy CDs anymore. But there wasn't enough fresh blood, which made buying them less and less enjoyable.     And vinyl records? They aren't my cup of tea, and I basically don't have the space to store them.     But to be honest: I really miss digging for CDs in record stores and at flea markets.

A DECLINE OF PHYSICAL MEDIA (2)
Anyway - I migrated my music consumption to Spotify, Bandcamp, YouTube, and USB sticks, while smartphones became increasingly important. I also started listening to Mixcloud, Soundcloud, podcasts, downloadable radio shows and similar on-demand formats.

Pic 1: This is what Mixcloud looked like back then.  |  Pic 2: An article about Mixcloud.  |  Sound: An episode of 'Klap Van De Molen', a Dutch weekly music podcast I really enjoyed at the time.
READING ABOUT MUSIC ONLINE
My music reading habits were all over the place. I was still reading written music blogs, though many of them were clearly in decline. I also continued to visit discussion forums such as Fok!forum, while at the same time using several popular social media platforms: Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram (the latter only as a reader). Smartphones and tablets were also still relatively new additions for me.

Pic: An article about the end of the famous Dutch music blog 'KindaMuzik'.
PERSONAL WEBSITES
I was also still maintaining personal music websites, but feeling the pressure to make them responsive sometimes took the fun out of the design process.

Pic 1: Own site, in summer 2015.  |  Pic 2: Own site, in mid-2016; post-Radionomy and the last not-responsive one.  |  Pic 3: Own site, in spring 2017.  |  Pic 5: Own site, in mid-2019. After this sparse looking one, there wouldn’t be another personal site for about six years.
REGULAR RADIO
Apart from events like NPO Radio 2's Top 2000 and NPO Radio 5's Evergreen Top 1000, I still rarely listened to FM stations, with the exception of the national Dutch talk station NPO Radio 1. I had never listened to this station before, but suddenly it caught my interest. Maybe my age (+/- 37) had something to do with it.

Pic: An article about the daily NPO Radio 1 show 'Gaan!'. Nowadays Morad is a well-known DJ at NPO Radio 2.
OLD VERSUS RECENT MUSIC
Compared to the previous two eras, I listened more to contemporary music - without going overboard, as was the case in the early 2000s - while still discovering plenty of oldies. These tracks were months, years, or even decades old.
··· EXTRA: SOME TEXT ABOUT 2020 TO NOW (WITHOUT A LIST)
I haven't created a list of the tracks I've played the most since 2020 yet, all of which were still fairly new when I first discovered them. Relatively recent favorites are already highlighted elsewhere, for example on this page.
Both taste-wise and when it comes to handling music, there's little to no difference between 2015 and now. There is (even) less physical media involved nowadays. The overall mood just sort of flows along.
INTERNET RADIO - STATIONS, THE BIG ONES
I'm still very much into internet radio. As in the previous era, the list of stations I've listened to since 2020 is pretty long. I'm changing channels a lot.     You can find a list below. These are the national public radio stations + relatively 'big' local ones. Some pics are just screenshots of the site, * = something different.

Pic 1: An article about FIP, which is a classic now.* Pic 2: The alternative Seattle based station KEXP.  |  Pic 3: BBC 6 Music at Sundays (which I really like).  |  Pic 4: Mobile screenshots of the Colour 3 app (their old identity which I had a soft spot for).* Pic 5: Some pics related to RTBF Jam.* Pic 6: An article about Byte FM, the Hamburg alternative to KEXP (translated into Dutch).*
INTERNET RADIO - STATIONS, THE SMALL ONES
These are relatively small (often local) stations I've listened to since 2020. French stations are often part of the 'Ferarock' or 'Radio Campus' networks. Most pics are just screenshots of the site, * = something different.

Pic 1: The local French station Radio Béton.  |  Sound 1: Typical Radio Béton sounds from the early/mid-2020s*.  |  Pic 2: A schedule of BRUZZ.  |  Pic 3: Ice Radio.  |  Pic 4: Dandelion Radio.  |  Pic 5: Villla Bota.  |  Pic 6: Raptz.  |  Pic 7: A schedule of Urgent FM.  |  Pic 8: KLFM.  |  Pic 9: Radio Scorpio.  |  Pic 10: A schedule of Les Inrocks.  |  Pic 11: An article about L'Oreille Qui Gratte*.  |  Pic 12: Ness Radio.  |  Pic 13: PBB, the station of Laurent Garnier.  |  Pic 14: Pinguin Radio.  |  Pic 15: La Run.  |  Pic 16: Double XX.  |  Pic 17: Start FM. (...+ other stations fairly similar to the stations mentioned here, sometimes belonging to one of the next two networks.)  |  Pic 18: The French 'Radio Campus' network, home to many local and student-driven stations.  |  Pic 19: The French 'Ferarock' network, home to many local and alternative stations.
INTERNET RADIO - MEDIAU
Radio aggregators come and go. In the early 2020s MediaU was a major one. (Formerly) 'Imperial' internet radio owners will remember it; I was one of them. MediaU is no longer active. All of a sudden, it was gone, with no warning at all. I didn’t even have time to take a screenshot of the Dutch version.

Pic: The German version of the MediaU portal.
ON-DEMAND MEDIA
Spotify played a much bigger role, despite ongoing ethical concerns. In today’s musical ecosystem, it’s hard to ignore.     Mixcloud, YouTube and Pocket Casts (that podcasts app) are other services/apps that I use a lot. And in addition to these platforms: SoundCloud and downloadable radio shows. In the previous era, I started making frequently use of on-demand media, and I've continued to do so.

Pic 1: My Spotify account in the early 2020s.  |  Pic 2: Icon packages in a slightly later stage.  |  Pic 3: A screenshot of my account in the same era.  |  Pic 4: A screenshot of my account, last year.  |  Pic 5: A screenshot of the Mixcloud site.  |  Pic 6: A screenshot of the Pocket Casts app.
ALGORITHMS VERSUS HUMAN CURATED
In the end, I prefer playlists and music databases that are curated by people. As long as they offer an interesting perspective on music, they can be created by both professional curators and dedicated hobbyists. I tend to ignore algorithms and still rely on fairly old-fashioned ways of discovering music.

Pic: A Reddit discussion (subreddit: Indieheads) about this subject.
PERSONAL WEBSITES
In 2025, I uploaded a personal music site for the first time in six years. You can find several screenshots of old sites at the 'BITD' 2005-2007, 2008-2010, 2011-2014 and 2015-2019 pages.

Pic: This website, late in 2025 and early in 2026. The current design dates from February 2026.  |  Pic 2: The idea of resuming my personal music sites originally grew out of the simple text files I had on my domain around 2024, listing tracks that weren’t available on Spotify. I used to place the URLs above my Spotify playlists. As a 'real' website, the lists could be designed and presented much more effectively.  |  Pic 3: In the spring of 2025 I created this basic html site featuring the same contents.
REGULAR RADIO
I can simply copy-paste the text written in the 2015-2019 part: 'Apart from events like NPO Radio 2's Top 2000 and NPO Radio 5's Evergreen Top 1000, I still rarely listened to FM stations, with the exception of the national Dutch talk station NPO Radio 1.' NPO Radio 1's early morning talk show 'Gaan!' was still a favorite.

Sound: An episode of 'Gaan!' (2020), featuring some early discussions about AI. At the time, the show was still hosted by Morad El Ouakili.
OLD VERSUS RECENT MUSIC
There's nothing changed since the mid-2010s. I try to keep track of developments in the contemporary musical landscape, while at the same time discovering plenty of older music. These tracks are months, years, or even decades old.
